Event has already taken place. Music by Janacek, Brahms and R Schumann, and distribution of scholarship to the violinist Victoria Stjerna and Sjöströmska Quartet.
A close cooperation with the future composers, among them Hilding Rosenberg, Sven-Eric Johanson, Gösta Nystroem and Bo Linde, led to a series of premieres of solo recitals and chamber music. 1982 appeared Guido Vecchi for the last time as a soloist with the Gothenburg Symphony in a cello concerto by Saint-Saëns. In 1994 he sold his fine Venetian Gofriller cello and formed a scholarship fund. Since then, more than 1.7 million have been distributed to young string musicians’ training.
Today’s scholars are Victoria Stjerna (40 000 SEK) and the Sjöströmska Quartet (50 000 SEK).
