Event has already taken place. The modern chamber ensemble goes out hunting for contemporary links from time to time.
Based on these Gageego! icons, the ensemble has searched, traced and sniffed out (googled!) its way to the different composers’ respective influence on the world of music and later composers. Seek and you will find, listen and you will dream…
One of Gageego!’s most beloved guests is composer and conductor Péter Eötvös. This concert will be part of his 75th birthday celebrations in collaboration with the Gothenburg Symphony. We’ll get a whole new piece, written for Gageego! and singer/Noh actress Ryoko Aoki.
The evening’s programme forms a beautiful Eastern European production: from Ligeti via Eötvös to Belgrade-born Swedish composer Djuro Zivkovic’s Grawemeyer-award-winning On the Guarding of the Heart.
The evening’s soloist Ryoko Aoki has the roots of the Japanese theater tradition Noh, which has been performed since the 1300s. Noh is recognized by its strictly codified motion patterns, which are usually slow and sparse, the special dialogue sound and the use of masks.
Here you will find all the necessary information that you need to know about before your magical visit in the Concert Hall.
