Event has already taken place. The World in the Concert Hall: Xabier Díaz and Adufeiras de Salitre
This concert gives you contemporary Galician folk music with Celtic strains, by and with Xabier Díaz, an award-winning musician and composer from Galicia in Spain with a passionate relationship to song and tambourines. Music from Spain is so much more than flamenco. In Galicia, the Celtic legacy is looked after, and Xabier Díaz has been part of many constellations of artists from across the world with his contemporary Galician folk music.
Over the past few years, he has had a close collaboration with so-called pandereterias, a traditional Galician group of around a dozen tambourine-playing singers.
In 2015, they released their first album together, and the collaboration has continued from there. In 2017, they released the single O Baile de Noró (the dance of the Noró). The English name of the piece doesn’t really matter – you will still discover the power of tambourines.
DJ Said plays in the foyer before the concert and in the bar you can get for example a plate with Tapas and a glass of wine/beer for 195 SEK (alcohol free drink 165 SEK) or Shrimp sandwich with a glass of wine/beer for 175 SEK (alcohol free drink 145 SEK). The doors open at 18.30. Bring all your friends and come!
Be sure to learn more about Galician music, dance and tambourines at the seminar at Café Frid & Fröjd on 27 september.
