Each year around mid-February, the Sports Holiday Orchestra is founded anew, uniting young musicians aged 11-19. The week traditionally ends with the young orchestra’s very own concert at the Gothenburg Concert Hall!
Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra musicians coach their youthful counterparts during rehearsals led by conductors Ron Davis Alvarez and Marjolein Vermeeren. For many, the Sports Holiday Orchestra is their very first experience of playing in a symphonic orchestra; many decide to return year after year.
