Event has already taken place. Romantic chamber music with musicians of the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra.
Oldest of the works (though not the first of the three to be premièred) is that of Johannes Brahms. His clarinet quintet, performed by members of the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, has to be some of the most beautiful music ever written.
Brahms wrote it after the death of his best friend, at a time when he realised he himself did not have long to live either. It is the work of an experienced composer drawing on years of talent and creativity. Just like Brahms, Andrée’s first instrument was the piano. Middle-aged Andrée composed with powerful, sweeping, romantic brushstrokes, painting melodies beautifully alternating between instruments. Franz Schreker taught composition in Vienna. Sadly, he never made it to Hollywood. And yet, his work already clearly exhibits the sound that went on to shape film music to this day.
