Event has already taken place. Ane Brun meets the Gothenburg Symphony, conductor Hans Ek.
Ane Brun’s debut album Spending Time With Morgan was released in 2003 on her own label DetErMineRecords. It was during a time when it suddenly swarmed with boys and girls with acoustic guitars, and everyone would be releasing their own records. Most of them are now just a parenthesis in the history of music. Others have continued, released albums and toured. Some have become successful and Ane Brun is definitely one of the latter.
The title of her sixth studio album is ambiguous – When I’m Free. Does freedom already exist, or is it something she longs for but have not yet reached? That kind of ambiguity is the basis for Ane Brun’s most elaborate album to date. Both lyrically and musically, it’s a fearless plate that treats different types of change and even the usually modest artist admits is probably “more extroverted and dynamic” than anything she had previously done.
In the Gothenburg Symphony’s multiannual project Popical leading contemporary artists meets musicians from the orchestra in cross-over collaborations. Each concert is unique with a bespoke orchestra playing newly written arrangements from the artist’s repertoire.
We only have vegetarian food on the menue in the restaurant and café this concert weekend, as part of our strategic environment and climate work. The food we eat today accounts for a quarter of our climate impact and WWF believe that we in the Western world should halve our meat intake to reduce the environmental footprint.
Therefore high durability and low climate impact is extra high on the agenda in the restaurant and the café – the three-course menu is vegetarian and the café serves organic pastries, snacks and vegetarian wraps. Together we make difference.
