The lecturer, pianist and researcher Fredrik Ullén delves deep into the convolutions of the brain and what happens when art is created. He is an internationally acclaimed pianist and professor of cognitive neuroscience at Karolinska Institutet. With his two professional perspectives, he is in a unique position to describe what happens during the creative process and what distinguishes creative people. In addition to the lecture, he will also play piano music by Beethoven and Kurtág.

After the lecture and an intermission follows an exciting panel discussion between Fredrik Ullén, Beethoven expert Åke Holmquist and composer Bent Sørensen under the guidance of presenter Gunnar Bjursell, professor emeritus with a strong commitment to the research field culture, brain and health. He is also the initiator of the website “The Cultural Brain”.

Lecture and panel discussion are arranged in collaboration with the AHA! Festival, which explores the meeting between art and science..

Point Music Festival is implemented with the support of the Stena Foundation.
