Event has already taken place. The winter darkness prevails outside, but here the light is warm. We celebrate the return of light with shimmering tones of the organ with Hans Davidsson, the mezzo-soprano Maria Forsström and the dancers Natalie Ogonek and Gabriel Davidsson.
The winter darkness prevails outside, but here the light is warm and welcoming. The ancient Swedish tradition of celebrating light fair is ancient. What in the world of the church is called kyndelsmäss, or Mary’s light mass, is a holiday when the living candle becomes a central point and gives strength to look forward. Together we celebrate the return of light!
Organist Hans Davidsson plays music for the season. The rich, powerful and sometimes poetic organ music of Bach, Mendelssohn and the French symphonic masters Widor and Vierne, are contrasted with songs by Mahler and Handel performed by warm mezzo-soprano Maria Forsström. We also meet the dancers Natalie Ogonek and Gabriel Davidsson, internationally active dance artists and members of the Davidsson Organ and Dance Collaborative, who enrich the concert with dance and improvisation in several works.
Let the vibrations from the concert hall organ’s 9000 pipes cause the darkness to dissipate and the body to wake up and prepare. Come to a concert and listen to the shimmering tones of the organ.

The organ is called “the queen of instruments” and for a good reason: no other acoustic instrument is so varied in sound and dynamics, from the weakest, solitary tone to massive chords that make it vibrate in floors and walls. Join the tour inside the fascinating instrument together with Hans Davidsson from Göteborg International Organ Academy!
