Event has already taken place. A dazzling mix of dizzying surprises when the Gothenburg Symphony is remixed by audio artists from Gothenburg Art Festival!
The season’s first Offstage is a myriad of surprises, shakes and discovery. First out, the Norwegian sound artists Rakel Nystabakk and Eirik Ask are remixing Bartók’s Music for Strings, Percussion and Celesta as the Symphonics played earlier in the evening! With samples, synths and keyboards they improvise a new and very own interpretation of the original work. With experience from electronics and jazz music, they create hypnotic music ranging from the calm and meditative to the suggestive and rhythmic.
After this half-hour of musical activity, a handful of musicians unexpectedly show up in order to present the Gothenburg Symphony in Surround, a musical experience in the three-dimensional space, which in short passes offers a journey from the Middle Ages to our days. Just hovering in the comfortable music column with all the senses open.
During the evening you can also take a digital tour in the house (bring your mobile and headphones), talk about the experiences in the mingel corner or simply relax in the bar.
Offstage is carried out in the concert hall’s wardrobe and does not cost a single crown. Just come! You who have a ticket to the orchestra concert earlier that night can just stay in the wardrobe afterwards – you have a guaranteed place.
The concert is part of the GAS festival.
