See the Nordic coasts as you’ve never seen them before. Unique projections fill the Great Hall in a packed concert experience created by film and photojournalist Joakim Odelberg, film director Andrea Östlund and the Gothenburg Symphony. It is a unique concert project about our fragile earth and the fragile hope we have for our future.

Join us for a breathtaking experience when five prominent composers from all Nordic countries present new commissioned music about the great challenge of our time – Daníel Bjarnason (Iceland), Miho Hazama (Denmark), Mats Larsson Gothe (Sweden), Maja S.K Ratkje (Norway) and Outi Tarkiainen (Finland). With the music as company, we are lured along to dramatic landscapes in the projections that fill the Great Hall this evening.

The concert is also played in a shorter format as a family concert and school concert.

With the camera as a weapon, Joakim Odelberg has gone on a campaign to defend the vulnerable life under the surface. This is how he and his team filmed the sea, above and below the surface:

The music is written by Daníel Bjarnason (Iceland), Miho Hazama (Denmark), Mats Larsson Gothe (Sweden), Maja S.K Ratkje (Norway) and Outi Tarkiainen (Finland). They all belong to a group of the Nordic countries’ most prominent contemporary composers. With inspiration from Nordic nature, they shine a light on the sensitive resources we must nurture for the future.

Commissioned by the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra.
