Event has already taken place. Exclusive and long-awaited solo concert with the American organist Nathan Laube, in collaboration with Gothenburg International Organ Festival.
After an acclaimed performance at the inauguration of the concert hall organ, the American Nathan Laube is back in Gothenburg. Laube is known for his own interpretations of classical works outside the organ repertoire, such as the overture to Tannhäuser by Richard Wagner. In this evening concert we get to hear the great march from Tannhäuser, as well as music by César Franck, Franz Liszt, Charles-Valentin Alkan and the French composer and resistance woman Elsa Barraine.
American organist Nathan Laube is a leading musician and educator with admirers worldwide. He has appeared on four continents in prestigious concert halls such as the Elbe Philharmonic in Hamburg, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles and the Vienna Concert Hall as well as in famous churches such as Notre-Dame in Paris, St Paul’s Cathedral in London and Berlin Cathedral. Nathan Laube was also present at the inauguration of the restored organ in Vasakyrkan in Gothenburg. He is also active at the University of Music in Stuttgart and was previously associated with the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, USA.
Gothenburg International Organ Festival 2022 welcomes all ages to a world of passion and sound experiences. The festival is Northern Europe’s largest organ festival and has existed since 1994. A number of great musicians take part in workshops and concerts in Gothenburg’s Concert Hall and in Gothenburg’s largest churches.
