Event has already taken place. Jazz that pushes all boundaries. Saxophonist Jonas Kullhammar, trumpet player Goran Kajfeš, bassist Johan Berthling and drummer Kresten Osgood.
Jazz that pushes every style boundary. The sound is transformative and free – but within a framework. Nacka Forum celebrates 25 years this year as they continue to forge ahead. As always, saxophonist Jonas Kullhammar, trumpet player Goran Kajfeš, bassist Johan Berthling and drummer Kresten Osgood offer a bit of everything – and more.
With one foot swinging and the other free to move, Nacka Forum makes music that is eventful, mind-bending, unrestrained. A breeze from New Orleans and echoes of Ornette Coleman or Sonny Rollins might sweep in. The intense pace of 50s rock might link up with African highlife or rise to soaring heights worthy of Pharoah Sanders. Surprising time signatures from the Balkans might jump on the bebop train; the Salvation Army might unleash a funky riff.
And we can’t forget Nacka Forum’s ever-present humour and playfulness, apparent in titles like “Zlatan”, “Borkum Riff” and “Buss 414”.
