With the Argentine accordion bandoneon on centre stage, some of the worlds most prominent tango musicians visit the concert hall. An evening filled with music by Astor Piazzolla in his epic quintet constellation.

Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992) was an Argentine bandoneonist and composer of tango music. Musically, Piazzolla was inspired by both jazz and art music. The new style came to be called “Tango Nuevo”. Piazzola’s contribution to the spread of tango in the world cannot be overestimated.
The new quintet makes its first tour in Sweden and consists of acclaimed and award winning musicians from both Argentina and Sweden – Pablo Agri, Cristian Zárate, Roberto Tormo, Kasper Agnas and Mikael Augustsson. The violinist Pablo Agri’s father, Antoni Agri, was Piazzola’s violinist in his original quintet.
