This Tuesday we take a trip across the strait to Denmark. A friend of Gothenburg, Carl Nielsen is widely recognised as his country’s foremost composer, but Denmark has also produced such originals as Langgaard and Vagn Holmboe, as well as the striking Per Nörgård. Lecturer is the conductor Johannes Gustavsson. He regularly conducts orchestras such as Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, Oslo Philharmonic, Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Helsinki City Orchestra. He has also been chief conductor at the Wermland Opera and is keen on contemporary Nordic music.
