Kathrine Windfeld, pianist and composer born in Denmark, is considered among the most exciting newcomers on the Scandinavian jazz scene at the moment. Her versatility as a musician and her personal playing style have brought her several prestigious awards, despite her young age.

In 2014, Kathrine Windfeld’s enthusiasm for big band jazz inspired her to create a dream team of 15 skilled musicians from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Poland. Since then, the praise has rained down on Kathrine and her super-hip big band.

Their debut album Aircraft won a Danish Grammy in the New Jazz Artist of the Year category, and in 2017, their second album, Latency, was released, praised by critics, and written about in Jazzwise – one of Europe’s premier jazz magazines.

Kathrine Windfeld’s amazing compositions and arrangements seem boundlessly creative, and she is thought to have a bright future ahead.

In the concert series Nefertiti at the Concert Hall you will find jazz and cross-border music with international stars in a intimate format. The concerts are arranged in collaboration with the jazz club Nefertiti. The playlist is loaded with the guesting artists season 2018-2019.
