Information from Göteborgs Konsertkör:
Göteborgs Konsertkör with its 150 singers, together with the orchestra, opens the powerful musical experiences of Advent and Christmas with a performance of Handel’s Messiah. All the splendid and exquisite choral movements and all the arias will be performed. The work will be sung in English.

About the participants:
Ingrid Berg, soprano.
Performances include Lydia in Pride and Prejudice by Daniel Nelson at Norrlandsoperan, Eurydice in G. F. Telemanns Orpheus at Vadstena-Academy, soloist with Norrköping Symphony Orchestra and Göteborg Baroque.
Ann-Kristin Jones, mezzosoprano.
Grew up in Leksand and since 2007 has been engaged as a soloist by The Gothenburg Opera. In the 23–24 season, she sang Rita in Mytomania by Paula af Malmborg Ward, Donna Elvira in Mozart’s Don Giovanni and Juno in Platée by Rameau.
Viktor Johansson, tenor.
Studied at The Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg. Since then, Viktor has performed with The Gothenburg Opera, in Don Giovanni, the Sand Wolf and Viva La Mamma by Donizetti.
Jakob Antonér, bass.
Trained at the Ingesund School of Music & the Academy of Music & Drama
where he, amongst others, studied under Bo Rosenkull, Carl Unander-Scharin
and Åsa Bäverstam.
Matts Johansson, choirmaster and conductor.
Also active as a singer, pianist, violinist, arranger and teacher. Has worked with rehearsals in the Gothenburg Concert Choir since 2014 and as artistic director and conductor since 2018.
