Event has already taken place. Tomas Ledin, Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and Peter Nordahl in a unique concert experience in Scandinavium on August 19!
Symphonia is a new side of Tomas Ledin. 15 of his beloved songs interpreted by the arranger and conductor Peter Nordahl are performed by Tomas Ledin and the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra. Symphonia means “in unison” and that is exactly what this unique concert wants to provide – a curious encounter across musical boundaries.
With a 50-year career, Tomas Ledin is one of Sweden’s most loved artists and has created songs that are forever etched in the musical memory of most of the Swedish population. Peter Nordahl has a long list of cross-border collaborations among his credits. Together, they have chosen a repertoire consisting of both more obvious and less well-known songs.
“Peter called one day and asked if I wanted to give my songs a new context,” says Tomas. “Could we together rediscover En del av mitt hjärta, Just Nu, En midsommarnattsdröm and other songs in new musical landscapes? It was a no-brainer, of course I wanted it!”
The project Symphonia started together with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, which performed the music in Stockholm’s Concert Hall in November 2022 together with Tomas Ledin and Peter Nordahl. The music is also available on album.
On August 19, we will hear the result – let the music soar you over undiscovered landscapes!
The concert is organized in collaboration with Live Nation.
