Event has already taken place. Experience Beethoven’s third piano concerto, Mozart, intimate miniatures, and Indian elements
The threatening sparseness of the first movement is contrasted by the sublimely dreamy atmosphere of the second movement, before the concert ends with a dance-friendly and lively rondo. Here with Swedish, world-famous pianist Per Tengstrand.
Musica Vitae – which is Latin for Life’s music – also offers Mozart’s high-drama and counterpoint virtuoso Adagio and fugue for strings, and British Gerald Finzi’s pastorally beautiful Eclogue for piano and strings. We are also treated to Swede John Fernström Intimate miniatures and music by award-winning Indian-American composer Shruthi Rajasekar. Her Son of Pandu imaginatively weaves together classical music with elements of her Indian heritage.
Free introduction with musicians from the orchestra in the Stora Salen Hall one hour before the start of the concert.
