Finnish-Argentine music with strong rhythms is played when Päivi Severeide, harpa and Erica Nygård, flutes make the choice. Erica Nygård is solo flutist in the Vaasa Orkester. Päivi Severeide plays the harp in Turku Philharmonic Orchestra and also with other Nordic orchestras as a soloist. She teaches at the Sibelius Academy and inspires composers to create new works for the harp. We get a taste of new Finnish music in two works by composer Heta Aho, born 1992.
In addition, we get music by Astor Piazzolla. With his free approach to genres, he wrote both tango and contrapunctal chamber works. Regardless of whether you are a new or a regular visitor to Gothenburg’s Concert Hall, you can count on an experience out of the ordinary.
