Event has already taken place. Ensemble Makadam plays Music for strings and prepared piano (Lisinski) and Broken Column (Edberg) as a part of the concert installation Durations.
Durations can be experienced in the entrance hall in Gothenburg Concert Hall 4-10 September. During the same period, each composer will also get his work presented in full, with elements of the ensemble improvisations.
At this concert, Ensemble Makadam plays the piece Music for strings and prepared piano by Victor Lisinski (1987). He acts as composer and musician, mainly in instrumental chamber music and electronic music. His instrumental music is often realized through generic improvisation systems. In electronic music he works mainly with field recordings from different parts of the world.
The second concert of the concert is Broken Column of the composer and musician Isak Edberg (1989). In long compositions for acoustic instruments as well as synthetically produced tones, Isaac moves slowly through the seemingly endless world that is harmoniously sound. Isak uses heavily reduced and carefully controlled materials to create a state of maximum clarity.
In addition to the concerts of composers, the ensemble performs two concerts with its own program content and so the journalist and author Magnus Haglund speaks of the importance of the room for listening.
Durations is a collaboration between Gothenburg Concert Hall, Live Music and Ensemble Makadam. With support from the National Music Agency and the Culture Council.
