In the spotlight: Anne-Sophie Mutter, the world-famous violinist with a long, brilliant career and unparalleled radiance. Together with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra and its principal conductor Fabio Luisi, she offers Beethoven’s first Violin Romance and the Violin Concerto, one of the great beauties of classical music.

The final work is Carl Nielsen’s startling and dramatic fifth symphony – so modern that it shocked the audience at the Swedish premiere in 1924. But like many bold innovations, it has over the years turned into a classic, appreciated for its qualities and timelessness.
