Göteborgs Konserthus Canceled Thursday concert: Christmas Gala with Lise Davidsen

Unfortunately, Lise Davidsen has been forced to cancel Thursday’s concert due to illness, purchased tickets are automatically refunded. Saturday’s concert is planned to be able to be carried out.

How the money are refunded:

• If you have paid for your ticket with a card online, the refund will be made to the same card that you used at the time of purchase. It may take a few banking days before you can see that the money has arrived to your account.
• If you made your purchase by bank transfer, gift card or directly at the ticket office, the refund takes place in the form of a credit receipt. The credit receipt is sent to the e-mail address that you entered at the time of your purchase. You can use the credit receipt as a means of payment the ticket office and online. It is also possible to redeem the credit receipt for money at the ticket office.

Dazzling Norwegian world soprano Lise Davidsen performs a pearl ribbon of Christmas carols together with the Gothenburg Symphony and Gothenburg Symphony Choir under the direction of Christian Eggen. Come into the warmth and listen to classics such as O, holy night, Ave Maria and many more.  

Lise Davidsen’s big breakthrough came in 2015 with several first prizes in prestigious opera competitions and since then she has been hotly sought after by the world’s major opera houses. She has been called a new Birgit Nilsson and rewritten as one of the greatest singing talents in decades with her boundless vocal range. In 2019, she made her debut at The Metropolitan Opera in Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades. In 2021, she was named Opera Singer of the Year at the International Opera Award. 

Now Lise Davidsen visits Gothenburg for the first time and she’s bringing a brand new album, “Christmas from Norway”. She offers both Christmas classics and personal stories; from the memomory her first solo performance as a child with norwegian song En stjerne skiner i natt, to experiences from the world’s leading opera stages. 

In addition, we are swept into a musical snowscape when the Symphony and the Gothenburg Symphony Choir perform Stenhammar’s magnificent Midwinter for choir and orchestra.

Thanks to a generous support from the Stena Foundation, we get to experience Lise Davidsen in this concert.
