Event has already taken place. Gothenburg Symphony, Thomas Søndergård Conductor, Nicola Benedetti Violin
Risk-taking and curiosity characterise British violinist Nicola Benedetti, born in Scotland with roots in Italy. She is just as happy to play Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons as she is to play a new piece by Turnage or a commissioned work by jazz trumpet player Wynton Marsalis. She also plays the big violin concertos with the finest performers, such as Shostakovich’s Violin Concerto No. 1 with the London Symphony Orchestra and Valery Gergiev on Trafalgar Square.
She’ll play that concerto in Gothenburg with conductor Thomas Søndergaard, who also delivers Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5, the one with the great and unabashedly romantic horn solo.
Here you will find all the necessary information that you need to know about before your magical visit in the Concert Hall.
