Event has already taken place. The Baroque Academy Gothenburg Symphony performs a number of Baroque pearls by Vivaldi, Roman, Telemann and Boccherini.
The Baroque Academy Gothenburg Symphony (BAGS) has warmed up for this performance with a series of concerts in Norway. Now they are joined by two violin soloists and invite us all on a musical journey featuring Baroque pearls by Vivaldi, Roman, Telemann and Boccherini.
BAGS was formed around 2008 and is an ensemble consisting of some twenty musicians driven by a desire to explore and bring to life the music of the Baroque era from the 17th and 18th centuries.
The term ”baroque” is thought to have originated from the Portuguese word ”barocco”, which means an irregularly shaped pearl. Initially the term was only used in art and architecture and described a richly decorated art form in this context.
