Event has already taken place. Baroque Academy Gothenburg Symphony, Stefano Veggetti artistic director, Terje Skomedal violin
Alongside the musicians of the Baroque Academy Gothenburg Symphony, he explores music using a perspective that stays true to the period – the way it may have sounded when the music was first composed. The well-known Vivaldi, and lesser-known Neapolitan Durante are represented in one concerto each, and hot-headed virtuoso Veracini in an overture.
In addition, there will be a violin concerto by Maddalena Sirmen, a phenomenon on the violin, highly educated in the field of composing. Over a few decades, she travelled far and wide across the world, but she doesn’t seem to have ever visited Sweden. Concertmaster Ferling did, however, play a violin concerto by “Madame Syrmen” at Riddarhuset in Stockholm on 23 October, 1774 – perhaps the very one we are now to hear in Gothenburg.
This time they are giving a concert at Råda Rum, Mölnlycke.
