Rautavaara: Cantus Arcticus
As a greeting from Finnish forests, Einojuhani Rautavaara’s masterpiece Cantus Arcticus resounds with duets between wind instruments and recorded birdsong. Experience when the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra meet their honorary conductor Neeme Järvi in this special piece. Rautavaara’s impressionisticly painted concerto is one of his most popular works. He made the recordings of birdsong himself in northernmost Finland. Recorded in October 2024.
