Mariam The Believer – Live in Concert
With her uncompromising and courageous approach to music, Mariam Wallentin started her solo project Mariam The Believer.
On this evening we met improvised chamber music taken from the album Breathing Techniques – a multifaceted artistic experience based on improvisation, pop and soul, together with a chamber ensemble. With the help of the musicians and the room, Mariam creates a Zen-inspired community. Join us in a generous and calm atmosphere where the music gives you the opportunity to focus on the present.
More about Mariam Wallentin
Mariam Wallentin’s career has crossed a number of territories: from jazz constellations like Fire! Orchestra, the duo Wildbirds and Peacedrums, collaborations ranging from Konono Nº1 and Deerhoof to symphony orchestras, choral compositions and drum circles, to the lead role in a critically acclaimed modern opera by the noise musician Ben Frost. One of her most recent projects is the Wishing Well, a newly composed song cycle on the intersection of music, poetry and performance that investigates our deepest wishes and longings, and reflects on the meaning of courage and freedom.
