Fauré: Piano Quartet nr 1, “Adagio”
The quartet is one of Fauré’s first chamber pieces, written after his engagement ended, much to the composer’s despair. This is considered one of his greatest works from his youth, and helped Fauré win prizes for his compositions. The slow and melancholic Adagio is performed here by Clara Garde, Manon Briau, Paula Gustafsson and Juan Zurutuza.
