Be a part of the Sports Holiday Orchestra. Every year in February, young musicians aged 11-19 gather in Gothenburg Concert Hall to form a symphony orchestra together.
During the rehearsals, the participants are coached by musicians as they become acquainted with the classical symphonic repertoire and develop their skills together. The Sports Holiday Orchestra is a guaranteed energy boost and a great way to meet and get to know other people who also love music. We hope you will join us!
The conductor are Ron Davis Alvarez, Gothenburg-based award-winning pedagogue and conductor with assignments all over the world and conductor and artistic director of Side by Side. They make sure that every last detail is fine tuned prior to the grand finale – a concert in the Stora salen!
The Sports Holiday Orchestra 2025
Join us and play in the Sports Holiday Orchestra! This year, there are two levels for you to choose from:
- Sports Holiday Orchestra Junior (string orchestra only) 11-14 years.
We rehearse shorter days and will join the Sports Holiday Orchestra and play three pieces together. Welcome with your application via the link below!
- Sports Holiday Orchestra. From 13 years.
Send a video where you play a piece from your repertoire, preferably with a little variation in tempo and character, approx. 1-2 min. (If you have any questions about this, please contact angelina.mangs@gso.se). You attach this to the application below.

Fee
- The course fee is SEK 250.
- Members of the National Association of Young Musicians, RUM, living in Västra Götaland or Halland pay only SEK 50, the rest is reimbursed by RUM. For questions about RUM membership, contact: milda.gontaite@rum.se.
- The fee is paid via a link that is sent out together with the admission notice.
